Common Miracle Cures

bladder-infection

Despite their commonness, household foods and ingredients can be used to treat serious health conditions or combat injury.  For example, mayonnaise is a miracle cream.  There are so many different things you can use it for, such as a skin moisturizer, a treatment for skin abrasions, or a lubricant for removing a ring from a swelling finger.  Regular consumption of cranberries can combat kidney problems, urinary tract infections, and even a bladder infection.  Eating mangoes, papaya, and other orange fruits and vegetables which contain beta-carotene will increase your eyesight, fortify your cornea, and preserve your eyesight for the future.

These are just a few examples of common foods that do worlds of good, there are several thousand other foods which can be of just as much benefit to the human body.

Making Holiday Wreaths

Author: Anna Smith

cranberriesMaking your own holiday wreath is a simple and cost effective alternative to buying your holiday decor in a store.  The first step is to collect materials.  You will need branches or twigs from evergreen trees like firs or spruce.  Picking up a few pinecones along the way can also be a nice decoration.  Next you will need some sturdy wire.  Florists often sell green wire for floral arrangements.  You will need to wrap the wire and the evergreen twigs and branches together, forming them into a wreath shape.  Next attach the pinecones with glue (if you happened to pick some up), and feel free to add other items like mistletoe, holly, cranberries, or ribbons.

As a fresh arrangement, this wreath won’t last forever, so keep in mind to make it right before Christmas if you intend to show it off to friends and family.

urinary tract infections

Although urine contains a variety of fluids, salts, and waste products, the presence of bacteria in it is rare.  When bacteria get into the bladder or kidneys and multiply into the urine, a UTI or Urinary Tract Infection can occur.  Even though urinary tract infections can be uncomfortable and painful, they tend to be easily treatable with antibiotics.

Treatment for urinary tract infections includes a variety of antibiotics, however there are also simple steps one can take at home to prevent or reduce the duration of an infection.  Drinking lots of water, avoiding sugar and alcohol, and drinking unsweetened cranberry juice or taking cranberry supplements are easy ways to fight against urinary tract infections.  It is also interesting to note that urinary tract infections are also common in household pets like cats and dogs.

What is a Cranberry?

A cranberry is a relatively small, red berry that grows on low-hanging vines in temperate zones all over the United States and other world regions.  The cranberry is a member of the same family of plants as bilberry and blueberry.

Cranberry can be taken as a juice, the whole berry, or from an extract. For maximum cranberry benefits, there should be no additional sweeteners added.  There are also nutritional supplements containing cranberry available in capsule and liquid form.
