Common Miracle Cures

Author: Anna Smith
bladder-infection

Despite their commonness, household foods and ingredients can be used to treat serious health conditions or combat injury.  For example, mayonnaise is a miracle cream.  There are so many different things you can use it for, such as a skin moisturizer, a treatment for skin abrasions, or a lubricant for removing a ring from a swelling finger.  Regular consumption of cranberries can combat kidney problems, urinary tract infections, and even a bladder infection.  Eating mangoes, papaya, and other orange fruits and vegetables which contain beta-carotene will increase your eyesight, fortify your cornea, and preserve your eyesight for the future.

These are just a few examples of common foods that do worlds of good, there are several thousand other foods which can be of just as much benefit to the human body.

Cranberries for Healthy Kidneys

Author: Anna Smith
kidney dialysis

If you have been diagnosed with kidney disease, particularly if you are on kidney dialysis, you may have been instructed to transition to a low-protein diet for your health.  Eating a low-protein diet alleviates undue stress on the kidneys and allows them to digest food more efficiently, assisting in the elimination of excess build-up waste to your blood.   Foods that are high in protein are meat, poultry, fish, eggs, and dairy products.  Phosphorus in the diet also needs to be limited, because it can drain your bones of the necessary calcium to keep them healthy and strong.  Foods high in phosphorus include dairy products, beans, peas, and nuts, while beverages with phosphorus include cocoa, beer, and cola drinks.  Sometimes a diet for kidney health will also require reduction of sodium as well.

Kidney disease can be the result of diabetes, high blood pressure, or other health issues.  Cranberries are full of vitamin C and are one of the few acidic fruits that have the capability to assist the kidneys in fighting bacteria.  Recent research has also indicated that the antioxidant properties of cranberries may aid in the prevention of kidney stones.

Urinary Tract Infection Facts and Prevention

Author: Anna Smith
urinary tract infection

A urinary tract infection (UTI) begins in your urinary system, which consists of the kidneys, ureters, bladder and urethra.  Any part of this system can be affected, but most UTIs are located in the urethra and bladder in the lower urinary tract.  Left untreated, they can result in serious consequences if they spread to the kidneys.

Women develop UTIs more frequently than men.  There are steps you can take to prevent first time UTI occurrences, such as drinking plenty of water and cranberry products, whether in juice, capsule, dried or fresh form.

What is a Cranberry?

A cranberry is a relatively small, red berry that grows on low-hanging vines in temperate zones all over the United States and other world regions.  The cranberry is a member of the same family of plants as bilberry and blueberry.

Cranberry can be taken as a juice, the whole berry, or from an extract. For maximum cranberry benefits, there should be no additional sweeteners added.  There are also nutritional supplements containing cranberry available in capsule and liquid form.

How are cranberries grown and prepared for sale?

Author: Anna Smith

July 7, 2008

Cranberry cultivation was started in the 1840’s,  with the best plants pollinated to increase size and quality.  After much experimentation, they are now grown on man made specialized farms.       There are several growing areas in Canada:  Nova Scotia,  P.E.I., Quebec,  Ontario and Fraser Valley, B.C.      The cranberries for CranberryCrandale come from Bala, Ontario  and the cranberry capsules are made there also.

The harvesting and sorting processes are certainly not simple.   A lot of equipment and staff are required to complete this operation.    Just one part of the system,  the sorting machines have seven barriers for the berries to “bounce” through, and  only ones with the “correct bounce” ,  no spoilage or bruising are passed through.   They are then hand inspected and packed 33 lbs. to a box to prevent any damage.   To make the capssules - the cranberries go through a dehydration process and packed into “vegicaps” .  The product is 100% Fresh, Freeze-dried cranberry,   340ml to each capsule giving  them the ultimate health benefit.

Thank you for coming   -  you can look forward to more good information on cranberries.

Cranberries for bladder infection

Cranberries contain compounds which mimic the human Tamm-Horsfall glycoprotein  which helps keep bacteria from sticking to the bladder walls causing bladder infection.    Some people do not have the Tamm-Horsall glycoprotein which makes them more susceptible to urinary tract infection.

Just a few signs of urinary infection are:   burning sensation on voiding, pain, fever, and some elderly persons may become disorientated until the infection lessens.
