Good morning! - and I have more good information for you!
This blog is directed to those who suffer the strong ammonia odour caused by urine degradation by E-coli.
The strong ammonia odour can be very demoralizing and uncomfortable for the patient and unpleasant for anyone around them and can occur to anyone having bladder control problems, any age group. It is more prevalent with our seniors in long-term care facilities and who may have in-bladder catheters. Small bed sores can appear.
One particular study found that 6 oz. cranberry juice did not really help; drinking 16 oz. each and every day did lower the pH and lower the odour. However, the patient may not be able to drink that much due to restricted fluid diet. If sugar is added it is not good for diabetics. If the drink is diluted then the value is lowered. Juice also becomes warm and stale at the bedside table or the patient may just refuse to drink it. (How many of us have tried to wash out cranberry stains?) There are several other disadvantages to the juice that are explained in the book offered on the website.
Cranberry capsules offer advantages such as: they can be opened and contents mixed with food - this is excellent for patients who cannot swallow. Even if they spill there is no mess to clean up and no waste. The capsules are packed in opague bottles for good keeping quality. We offer 100% Fresh Freeze dried Cranberry Capsules - no sugar or additives added!
That is the blog for today! I am going to go take my Cranberry capsule - and mow the lawn before it gets too hot out there!!
You have a wonderful day - talk to you later!
